What this comparison includes

Paying yourself is a cost.

Cash before owner pay subtracts fees, materials, packaging, actual shipping and allocated overhead. Profit then subtracts your production time at your chosen hourly pay.

Free shipping still costs money.

The free-shipping column removes the amount charged to the buyer for shipping. Your actual shipping cost stays in every scenario. Discounts apply to item prices only.

Assumptions need checking.

Processing fees, fee bases, advertising charges and taxes vary by location and platform. Enter them only where this model represents them correctly. It excludes tax, country-specific fees, ads caps, refunds and currency conversion.

How is the discount ceiling calculated?

The minimum order revenue is (materials + owner pay + packaging + actual shipping + overhead + fixed fees) ÷ (1 − fee rate − target margin). We subtract shipping charged to find the minimum item revenue. The ceiling preserves the chosen margin under these inputs; it does not predict demand.
